HiGex’s mission is to care for the Ottawa community by ensuring our residential and commercial spaces are safe from disease-causing pathogens. Central to this mission is our commitment to being transparent about the data we collect, how it is used and shared.

What information do we collect?

1.1. Personal information is recorded through various means when you inquire or purchase our services. This personal information may include:

· Name

· Address and postal code

· Phone number

· Email address

· Date of birth

· Billing and payment information

· Candidate information (for job applicants)

· Transactional data and history

· Other data collected that may directly or indirectly identify you

1.2. Business contact information for a business or professional person or an employee of an organization is not considered personal information.

1.3. Website usage and advertising data via cookies and other third-party online platforms on your use of our website and online adverts (e.g., search history, feed, content you read, page visits, videos you watch, clicking on an ad, etc.)

1.3.1. Cookies: Higex uses cookie technology on our sites. A “cookie” is a unique identifier  collected by the website to verify a returning visitor’s identity or to understand how visitors navigate the site. A cookie does not tell us who you are, or any other personal information. The use of cookies is standard on the Internet, and many major websites use them. We use the information to help us improve the Higex service, and to provide our visitors with better website experience. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies. You can change your browser to prevent or notify you whenever you are sent a cookie. This allows you to decide whether or not to accept the cookie. If you do not accept a cookie, you can access most of the features on the site. However, there may be limitations on some site functions. 

1.3.2. Third-party advertising technologies on and off our services: These may include pixels, ad tags, and device identifiers. We will show you ads called sponsored content on advertising sites. If you take action on our social platform or an ad, such as a “like”, “comment” or “share”, your action may be associated with your name and viewable by others, including the advertiser. Subject to your settingson these sites, if you take a social action, that action may be mentioned with related ads.

2. Why do we collect this information?

2.1. Service Excellence and Legal Fulfilment 

We continuously aim to provide excellent service that is progressive, convenient and accessible to all. We use data mainly to help you. We use personal information to fulfil any service inquiries, send you requested information and, or, complete payment transactions. We process and keep track of transactions through our CRM system to report back to you for service excellence. We use data (which can include your communications) to investigate, respond to and resolve any complaints/service issues. We also record transactional data to protect against fraud and error, as well as comply with legal and government regulations.

2.2. Stay informed 

Depending on the consent you provide, we would contact you for non-service or non-inquiry related topics, including, but, not limited to:

· Offering you opportunities to participate in contests or promotions. 

· Recommending content and, or, services that Higex believes will be of interest to you.

2.3. Business Development 

· Market and Trend Analysis: We analyze data to provide you and others with a better, more progressive, more convenient and personalized service experience as well as to drive business growth and engagement with our services.

· Surveys: We aim to improve our service by making sure to hear your opinion. Third-party partners or we conduct polls and surveys. You are not obligated to respond to polls or surveys, and you have choices about the information you provide. You may opt-out of survey invitations.

· Marketing: By understanding our customer better, we can improve our advertising on marketing channels. 

3. How we share information?

Higex retains personal information only as long as it is reasonably required to carry out our operations, or as required by federal or provincial laws. This information may be transferred or maintained in whole or in part on computer networks, which may be located outside of the province, country or other governmental jurisdiction in which you reside, and may be stored by licensed third parties on their equipment or in their facilities. Higex and our partners (listed below) take your privacy very seriously. 

3.1 Our central website (higex.ca) is hosted by GoDaddy (GoDaddy Operating Company, LLC).

3.2 Our partner HubSpot (Hubspot, Inc. and its Affiliates) processes customer data only under the direction and has no direct control or ownership of the Personal Data we process on behalf of our customers.

3.3 Other vendors are commissioned to support operations, as aforementioned in section 1.3. 

4. Your Choices & Obligations

Consent for the collection, use and disclosure of personal information may be obtained orally, or in writing and may be expressly given or implied. In determining how we get your consent, we consider the sensitivity of the personal information to be collected, used or disclosed. By inquiring or purchasing Higex services through our website or other means, you are implicitly consenting to the collection and use or your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy. If the personal information we require is collected for a reason other than to provide the requested service, your express consent will be requested at or before the time the information is collected unless otherwise required or permitted by law. If you do not agree with the data practices described in this Privacy Policy, you should not proceed with using our website or services.
